Light Grey N Red Dhonekhali Cotton Saree

This intricately woven light grey and red Dhonekhali saree in handspun cotton, comes from a place known as Dhonekhali in Hooghly district of West Bengal. This handloom marked saree has a diamond shaped floral pattern woven all over the grey base of the saree using dark grey zari. The saree has broad plain red border with light ikkat like pattern in red that beautifully overlaps the border as well as the body of the saree. The pallu of the saree has stripes in white and red that run vertically over the flower and diamond pattern. The pallu of the saree is adorned with the trademark ‘khejur chori’ design thread atypical of a Dhonekhali saree. This saree doesn’t come with a blouse piece.
