Description
This off-white and red with brown Dhonekhali saree in handspun cotton is reminiscent of the traditional Bengali ‘Laal Paar Sadha’ or ‘White and Red border’ saree. This saree comes from a place known as Dhonekhali in Hooghly district of West Bengal. This handloom marked saree is plain off-white in colour with red and brown floral patterns woven in the border. The saree has broad border in the bottom while the top border is relatively narrower. The pallu of the saree has a combination of broad and narrow stripes in red with the trademark ‘khejur chori’ design thread atypical of a Dhonekhali saree. This saree doesn’t come with a blouse piece.
This saree is perfect for any religious ceremony or can even be worn as an office wear with right accessories and appropriate styling. You can sail through the entire day comfortably in this saree. This saree can be paired with a variety of jewellery ranging from traditional gold jewellery to fabric or terracotta jewellery.
