Mexican Pink N Midnight Blue Dhonekhali Cotton Saree

This vibrant handloom marked Dhonekhali cotton saree, comes from a place known as Dhonekhali in Hooghly district of West Bengal. This saree has been woven to create missing check texture which is different from the typical fabric texture of a Dhonekhali saree. Pink lace colour has been used as the base colour for the body of the saree whereas the border is in Mexican Pink. The saree has a beautiful horizontal design with narrow stripes in Mexican Pink and Midnight Blue. Horizontal blocks of aztec-like pattern in the same colour combination appear in between the stripes to cover the entire body of the saree. The saree has broad plain border in Mexican Pink with a narrow stripe in Midnight Blue colour. The pallu of the saree has simple stripes of varying width in lighter shade of midnight blue colour that run vertically over the horizontal design. The pallu of the saree is adorned with the trademark ‘khejur chori’ design thread atypical of a Dhonekhali saree. This saree doesn’t come with a blouse piece.

The saree is soft and breezy and is perfect for the hot days of summer. This saree can also be draped as work wear. This saree can be paired with a variety of jewellery, from oxidized silver jewellery to beads and fabric jewellery.
