Description
This intricately woven white and black Dhonekhali saree in handspun cotton, comes from a place known as Dhonekhali in Hooghly district of West Bengal. This handloom marked saree has aztec-like horizontal pattern in black accompanied with black stripes woven all over the white base of the saree. The saree has broad plain black border with ikkat like pattern in grey that beautifully overlaps the border as well as the body of the saree. The pallu of the saree has grey broad and narrow stripes that run vertically over the aztec-like pattern. The pallu of the saree is adorned with the trademark ‘khejur chori’ design thread atypical of a Dhonekhali saree and black braided tassels. This saree doesn’t come with a blouse piece.
Despite its busy pattern, this saree is perfect for an office wear. With the right accessories, you can elevate this saree for an official meeting or conference. The saree is extremely comfortable and would see you through the entire day. This saree can be paired with a variety of jewellery ranging from oxidised silver jewellery to fabric or terracotta jewellery.
