Description
This beautiful handspun cotton Jamdani saree comes from East Bardhman district of West Bengal. This midnight blue saree has small ‘charkona’ (rectangular) and ‘butidar’ (small flower) jamdani motifs in white and yellow colour on the entire body of the saree. The technique of weaving makes the motifs appear as if they are floating on the fabric. The saree has a striking border in red with white stripes and ‘charkona’ (rectangular) motifs. The border is further highlighted with temple motifs in white and yellow. The attractive pallu of the saree is a combination of stripes in white, small ‘butidar’ (flower) jamdani motifs and temple motifs in white and yellow colours with large arrow-like motifs that form the central theme of the pallu. The pallu is also adorned with long midnight blue tassels. The saree comes with a plain blouse piece in midnight blue with thin red border with white stripes.
This saree is suitable for business meetings and conferences or for a casual outing during summers. This saree goes very well with fabric or stone/beads jewellery or even antique silver jewellery.
