We call this a fusion saree - a seamless blend of Rajasthan’s kashish hand-block printing, crafted on a classic Bengal’s gachi tussar silk base. Kashish hand block printing is an eco-friendly technique that uses natural mineral dyes and plant-based mordants to achieve rich, earthy tones. In this process, over-dyeing with indigo creates an additional range of blue-grey shades.

This indigo tussar silk saree has been hand block printed using a mud paste-based dye and resist technique, commonly known as Dabu printing. The entire body of the saree is adorned with nature-inspired paisley and leaf motifs in white set against a multi-shaded indigo base. The border is highlighted with a complimentary nature-inspired floral pattern printed in white, adding depth and definition to the design. The pallu features a harmonious mix of circular geometric and nature-inspired motifs, printed on the same indigo base, creating a balanced and visually engaging composition.

This saree comes with a matching indigo blouse piece adorned with greyish-blue polka dots and circular ring motifs scattered across the fabric. The blouse piece is further enhanced with the same nature-inspired pattern used on the saree border, tying the ensemble together beautifully.
