Cream Multicolor Tussar Nakshi Kantha Saree

This handcrafted saree comes from the artisans of Birbhum district in West Bengal. This cream tussar silk saree has kantha work in multiple colours. The technique of embroidery used for this saree is known as Nakshi Kantha which was derived from the Bengali word ‘Naksha’ which refers to artistic patterns. The body of the saree is plain with ‘single flower’ patterns in between. The saree has a heavily embroidered broad border depicting tribal figurines and animals. The same embroidery pattern is followed in the pallu as well. The saree is accompanied with a blouse piece in cream colour that has multicoloured striped embroidered border.
