Description
This stunning handspun cotton Jamdani saree comes from East Bardhman district of West Bengal. The dual tone of this saree has been achieved by weaving in brick red yarns with white threads. Small ‘tara’ (star) jamdani motifs in white, blue, turquoise and yellow beautifies the entire body of the saree. The technique of weaving makes the motifs appear as if they are floating on the fabric. The saree has a narrow white border with a few thin jamdani stripes in white. The attractive pallu of the saree is a combination of stripes in white, small 'duria' (polka dots), heart and ‘fulwar’ (flower) motifs in white, blue, turquoise and yellow along with floral motifs in the same colour combination that form the central theme of the pallu. The pallu is also adorned with long brick red tassels. The saree comes with a blouse piece in brick red colour with thin white stripes running through the entire piece.
This saree is a good choice to brighten up any regular day at work and for a casual outing in summers. This saree goes very well with terracotta, stone/beads jewellery or fabric jewellery.
