Description
This beautiful dual-toned handspun cotton Jamdani saree is woven in East Bardhman district of West Bengal. The dual tone of this saree has been achieved by weaving in sea green yarns with white threads. Small heart-shaped jamdani motifs in white, purpulish blue, yellow and red adorns the entire body of the saree. The technique of weaving makes the motifs appear as if they are floating on the fabric. The saree has a thin dutch blue border with a few stripes. The attractive pallu of the saree is a combination of stripes in purplish blue, ‘duria’ (polka dot) and heart motifs in white, purpulish blue, yellow and red with lamp motifs as the dominant theme in the same colour combination. The pallu is also adorned with long white tassels. The saree comes with a blouse piece in sea green colour with purplish blue very thin stripes running through the entire piece.
The soft and subtle design of the saree makes it perfect for work and also for casual day outings in summers. The colour of the saree is an added bonus for any hot summer day. This saree goes very well with either fabric jewellery or stone/beads or tribal jewellery. Going easy with styling is the trick to look classy in this saree.
